Damage on refrigerated goods
Refrigerated goods are often damaged during transport and storage. The causes vary from failure of the refrigeration system and the method of storage or packaging to the condition of the goods during take over and many more.
We are specialized in examining the causes of such damages, determining the functionality of the refrigeration systems together with the corresponding periphery and testing the ideal and actual storage/transport conditions. In order to do so, we evaluate the existing temperature recordings of the reefer containers, refrigerated trucks or refrigerated warehouses and interpret them under consideration of the technical characteristics of the system.
To determine the time span of temperature changes of goods we use simulation tools that we developed by ourselves. We can calculate the gas composition during the refrigeration storage (controlled atmosphere-CA) using suitable tools.
- Beef after a freezer burn caused by to high storage temperatures
- Simulation of the temperature distribution inside a reefer container
- Overripe bananas at a pier
- Damage of the vacuum- super-isolation of a cryogenic transport box used for the transport of cattle sperm
- Loose tuna fish after a temperature increase
